Date Night

I looovveee date night! It's always so nice to get out of the house for a bit and not worry about the stresses of life. For our date we decided we would go to Happy Sumo. Eric loves sushi and had been craving it but I hate it. It's so nasty. I hate anything that comes from the ocean or water. It's just not my thing. Give me some stake and A-1 sauce instead! BUT I decided to make my husband very happy and go there. I ordered some chicken and Eric got this Sumo roll which looked not to bad. I decided even though I knew I probably wouldn't like it I would try it to see if maybe my taste buds had changed. I hesitantly took a bite and right after I took that bite I regretted it. Yuck Yuck Yuck is all that was going through my mind. I quickly drank some water to get it down and took a bite of my chicken to get the after taste out of my mouth! I don't think I will be trying sushi again for a while. After Eric was very satisfied with his sushi and me with my chicken we decided to walk around the gateway mall. I totally didn't think it was going to be as cold as it was but boy was I wrong. I had a long sleeve on, pants, and a puffy jacket and was frozen in a matter of seconds after we walked outside. You would think that after living here for 3 years I would be use to this by now but nope. I guess my body likes the palm trees and the beach instead of snow. I initially wanted to walk around the gateway for a while but after stepping outside I changed my mind. We quickly walked in to Barnes and Nobles and got warm before we headed back to the car. We then headed to Coldstone to get some ice cream because I had been craving there birthday cake remix. I haven't had it for years so it was a nice end to the date. It was a wonderful date and I love Eric so much! It's awesome being married to your best friend.

Happy Birthday Eric!!!!

We celebrated Eric's birthday today and it was so much fun. Technically his birthday isn't until the 19th but it worked out easier with family to celebrate it one day earlier. I made him his favorite home cooked dinner and made him peanut butter brownies for his "cake".  We had all of the family over and had a wonderful time watching him open his presents. With Eric's birthday being so close to Christmas it's sometimes a challenge to figure out what to get him for his birthday, but not this year. This year he was really nice to me and decided he wanted money. That way he could get whatever he wanted and it's a little easier for me and my family. In my house growing up birthdays were a huge deal. The kitchen area was always decorated with streamers, a candy bar poster, confetti, whatever cake we wanted our mom to make us (every year to this day I get the funfetti cake with the rainbow chip frosting soo good!) and a picture of the birthday person on the table. Usually there was always a theme with the decorations which made it even more exciting. So naturally I was way excited to decorate for Eric's birthday and to make him a candy bar poster. I can't believe he is 26. Weird! haha Happy birthday love!
