Our new baby, "Goliath"

No I am not pregnant for those who are thinking that. It's the name of our new TV!! Back in November Eric came to me and told me about this awesome TV deal through the Dell website (with whom we will never shop with again). He explained this was the best deal he had seen including the upcoming black Friday deals. I don't speak TV so I had Eric explain it in layman's terms. Basically the deal was for a 50" 1080P Samsung Plasma (originally retails for $1199) and a dvd/surround sound home theater system ($229) for $775 + tax with free shipping. The deal was on Sunday but we decided not to purchase it on the Sabbath. The deal of course sold out within hours and we were both pretty sad. Eric decided to try and call Dell on Monday to see if anyone had canceled their order and if we could get one. They said that they had some left and so we ordered one and were told it would ship within 48 hours and we would receive it 3-4 days after that. To make a long long story short after multiple delays, shady business practices and numerous attempts from Dell to cancel our order behind our backs, the TV arrived on the 14th of DECEMBER. Sadly the screen was shattered. Eric spent numerous hours with Dell who eventually agreed to do an exchange. The particular TV we purchased was out of stock, so they sent us a better model TV (retail value $1399). After a long week the new TV FINALLY came and we couldn't be happier with our newest family member! Take our advise. NEVER BUY FROM DELL. EEEVVEEER.

Funny story of our first Christmas.

Being married I have obviously learned a lot about Eric. One thing I have learned is to appreciate Eric's reactions when I give him presents because they are different than mine and that's to be expected. If he doesn't react like I do it doesn't mean he likes them less then me. I have learned to not only appreciate his reactions but to notice between the really really excited reactions and the reactions he's just doing to be nice. There was one incident where I could tell he was just saying thanks and acting happy for me.

It was about a year ago this time and being our first married Christmas together I really wanted it to be special. There was this purse I really really wanted but it would be a hassle to get for me and I wasn't really expecting to get it. Just one of those things you want but know realistically you won't get. Eric didn't really have any items on his Christmas list that he HAD to have. There were a couple of x-box games he wanted but nothing I thought he wanted hardcore. He was running low on cologne and it was on his list so I decide to get him this cologne. He really likes the smell and he needed some more. Instead of spending money on a Christmas present and then when he ran out of cologne getting him that too I decided the logical thing would be to just buy it for him. I buy it for him and instead of buy the smaller size of the cologne I decide to buy the bigger size which of course is more expensive but hey it will last longer right! Christmas morning rolls around and I get my purse and squeal and am so excited so I am super excited to give Eric his present because I know he will enjoy it. He starts to unwrap his present and is smiling and is super excited. It feels like forever for me but finally all the wrapping paper is gone and he opens the box and then moves the tissue paper away and sees the cologne and then his smile dims and he looks at me..then the box..then at me..and says ohh thanks with a real cheesey smile on his face. I think he was trying to figure out if it was a joke or not. Needless to say the cologne was not at the top of his list of things he wanted. He was very grateful for the gift and was happy about his present but was expecting to open something else. I think he was expecting one of the x-box games. I had told him I got him one to throw him off but I guess it wasn't very smart of me considering he really got his hopes up. I learned my lesson and this year is different! I asked him to number the things on his list from the thing he wanted the most to the least so the same mistake won't happen again. This year is going to be awesome and I know he will really really enjoy the present I got him! That's what I thought last year though so who knows! We will see! Merry Christmas everyone!

BYU game

All I have to say about the BYU vs Utah game is this:

"I don't like Utah. In fact, I hate them. I hate everything about them. I hate their program, I hate their fans, I hate everything." Couldn't have said it better myself. Go Cougs!

Thanksgiving/Shelby's wedding!

I can't believe Thanksgiving has come and gone! Life is going by way to fast. For Thanksgiving Eric and I went to Southern California and it was amazing. I love love love California and realize how much I miss it when I leave. Hopefully Eric and I will end up living their one day. I could not believe how big the dogs have gotten! They are still soo cute and Eric really enjoyed playing with them again. I loved seeing them again too but I have to say I love the puppy stage. I keep trying to get Eric to get a cat but since he's allergic I don't think it will happen ever. Oh well!

One of the highlights of my Thanksgiving week was one of my very good friends got married. I flew up to Northern California on the Friday after Thanksgiving and flew back to Utah on Sunday. It was a really short trip but it was so awesome to be back in Roseville and to be there for her. She looked gorgeous and I was so excited to be her maid of honor. Shelby really married a great guy! I met him the night before they got married but in the short time of seeing them together I could tell how much they loved each other. It was so fun to have it be all of us girls again. The whole time I was at the wedding I just couldn't believe we were all married now. Sometimes I feel like we were just in high school yesterday. Crazy how time flies!

As for Eric and I we are back in Utah still trying to find jobs and housing. It has been a little harder than I expected but I know everything will work out the way it is suppose to. I admit I am getting a little impatient and I really want my own space again but I am trying to focus on the positive because at least we have a place to stay. My favorite time of the year is here so I think I will try and focus on the happy spirit of the season as well.

halloween!!

For Halloween this year Eric and I ended up going to Jessica and Mika's house. We had so much fun spending time with family. We carved pumpkins, went trick or treating, and ate some candy. It was a blast seeing JoAnna race up to the houses to get as much candy as she could and by the end of the night we were all tired. Jaden was a ninja warrior, Kayden was batman, JoAnna was a witch and Josh was a BYU fan. We both really love the holidays and are looking forward to going to California for Thanksgiving. It will be awesome to be in warmer weather and once again be by the beach.

      Utah

We made it! After a sad day of watching the thermometer in our car go from 80 to 50  we made it to Utah last Tuesday. We are going to be here for a bit to work and figure out life a little more. We have been here almost a week and it is awesome to be by family and to see our niece and nephew's! The holiday season is just around the coroner and we couldn't be more excited! We are just working on finding housing and jobs so if anyone knows of any good places to live or jobs lets us know!!

      Porsche and Bentley

So the pups are a collie lab mix and are awesome.  We got the dogs from a very zealous dog breeder who claims that her mom "accidentally on purpose" put the male collie and female lab in the same kennel where some love making went on.  There were 5 pups in total and it was not very hard to choose who we wanted.  We played with them for an hour, but we picked these two right off the bat and kept them in the end.  Bentley is a lovable, loyal teddy bear.  Its so funny, because he'll run with you where ever you go, lay with you anywhere, defend you against other animals but is a little but slow in the brains department.  Porsche on the other hand is super prissy.  She won't go in water, does what ever she want, looks at you quizzically if you call to her, yet she is the smartest most conniving dog ever!!! She'll sneak out of the dog run, grab a toy and parade it in front of Bentley who can't figure out how to get out and proceeds to bark in frustration. Its awesome to watch the two of them in action though.  They are two peas in a pod.

      Padres game

Chelsea and I were able to go to a Padres game on Wednesday and it was awesome. I was able to find some $60 tickets on stubhub.com for only $15!!!! It was an amazing deal. To get there we decided to take the coaster. That was a fun experience. It did take an hour to make it to San Diego, plus we then had to catch the trolley, but it was nice to not have to worry about traffic or parking. Anyway, the game was awesome, killed the Nationals (like there was ever any doubt that we would). I was literally inches away from catching a foul ball, and I still have a giant bruise on my leg from the jumping dive I made for it. All and all it was an amazing day, and I wish i had the money to afford season tickets.
