Our home!

I LOVE our new apartment! It has been a really long week but I finally feel like everything is coming together. The only thing that is left to finish is the guest bedroom and the office. It is so nice after almost a year of living with people to be in our own place again! I think my favorite thing is the kitchen. In our first apartment our kitchen was so small. I had no cabinet or counter space and if you took two steps you were already in our "dining room" area. But this kitchen has a ton of counter space and I have more cabinets than I know what to do with. It is so nice to not feel cramped. I am hoping to be here for a long time.

Random thoughts

-Eric and I have really been in to watching Burn Notice. It is my new favorite t.v. show. If you haven't seen it watch it because it is so awesome.

- We both have really been in to yogurt lately. Maybe it's because in the t.v. show, Burn Notice, the main character eats a lot of yogurt. It's healthy (depending on what kind you get), filling and really good. My favorite flavor right now is vanilla. I'm not a chunky yogurt gal so the vanilla and I are best friends.

-This show named Glee. My sister's, Jessica and Nicole, watched it and told me how much I would love it. I was indifferent on watching it so one night I decided I would give it a shot. Basically after the first 30 mins I was hooked. I stayed up super late that first night not wanting to go to bed but not being able to keep my eyes open anymore. It only took me the next night of staying up super late to finish it. It basically is the coolest show besides Burn Notice.

-Running. It's a real love hate relationship. I hate how I get tired so fast but love/hate how it pushes me. I love the feeling I get after I have just ran. I love how I sleep so good at nights. I hate how after I run I really want to eat something sugary.

- I love finding awesome deals on clothes or decorations. I think I love it the most when it's unexpected. The item is priced and you are mentally preparing yourself for that price. Then the cashier rings up the item and it is somehow magically cheaper. It's totally not expected but totally awesome. It pretty much makes my day. Most of the time this kind of stuff happens at Hobby Lobby. They need one in California bad.

-I have decided I am not to much of a spring person, weather wise that is. I love love seeing the flowers bloom and I love seeing the snow melt ( I hate snow). But I hate how it's freezing in the mornings and warm in the afternoons. I put a sweatshirt on because I am cold and by the end of the day I am super hot. Yeah I know I could just take my sweatshirt off but sometimes I am real lazy and don't want to have to rearrange my outfit because it decided to get hot. Just pick a temperature and stick with it.

J O B

Finally after 4 months of fasting and praying we have jobs! We are apartment managers in Provo. Eric is the maintenance man and I will be handling all of the office duties. I have never been an apartment manager before so I am a little nervous about it. There is a ton to remember and I feel like I am never going to get it but I think all jobs are like that at first. We won't actually be moving in until the first of May which is a bummer but it's because the managers want to make sure we are trained well enough to handle the responsibilities on our own. Even though it's going to suck driving back and forth until we are moved in, I am thankful because there is a ton of important information to retain. I am so excited that our long efforts of looking for a job have finally come to a close! We are both so excited for this job and are ready for the challenge!

February Events

This past month has been busy! My brother in law Dave was baptized this last Saturday and it was such an amazing experience. It was so touching to see how much he felt the spirit that day and to see how much the gospel has already changed his life. He is a great dad and a wonderful husband! I am so happy he is a part of our family.

The next event in February was Nicole's birthday. The day started out with Nicole waking up to an awesome pirate themed decorated kitchen followed by Jamie and Nicole getting their toes done while Jessica and I waited. It always is so much fun when we can all get together. I love it. Then the family went to Olive Garden for Nicole's birthday dinner! After dinner we went back to Jessica's house to open presents and eat cherry cheesecake. Eric and I gave Nicole the best card ever(we always give the funny inappropriate cards) and she ended up getting the stereo and speakers for her car she had wanted. I can't believe she is 20. It feels like yesterday we were driving around Roseville with all our windows down blasting Yellowcard. Even though I am married she is one of my best friends and I couldn't imagine my life without her. She is such an amazing example to me and sometimes I feel like the younger sister. She is one of the bravest people I know, sometimes a little too brave (nickelcade!! haha) love you kolipoki!

The next exciting event in February was Jamie's birthday!! The day started out with Dave taking Jamie out to breakfast. He also bought her red roses which was sweet. Then for dinner we had enchiladas because that's what Jamie wanted. Jessica drove up and it was fun to watch Jamie open her presents! She got everything she wanted and then we ate yummy yummy chocolate cake! It was such a fun day spent with family. I love Jamie so much and I am so proud to call her my older sister. She has taught me so much about life and I admire her so much. She is also one of my best friends and is one of the strongest people I know. We have been through a lot but it has only made me respect and understand her more. She is such a strength to me. Love you me me!

The next event on the list is this stinkin cute boys birthday. He will be 2 on the 25th and I love my little man so much. Even though he's Jamie's I call him my man! I can't help but love this little boy. He is so funny and brings so much laughter in to the house! Time is flying by and I can't believe he is going to be 2. I am so blessed to have this little man in my life! I love you Jaden!

SUSHI

Okay, so I am finally on here.  I'm writing to brag about my awesome sushi skills.  Yes you heard right, I made sushi and I did it with some serious skill!  Basically, I love sushi and ever since I went to my friend Chris's house where I had homemade sushi, I have wanted to do it myself!!!!!!!  I went to the local grocery store and got all of my supplies.  I was able to do this because I am unemployed and thus have lots of time on my hands, and because Chelsea was in bed all day not feeling well.  Anyway, after getting the supplies home and watching hours of sushi preparing videos online I made my first roll.  It was only a California roll, but it was good.  After that, I upgraded to some salmon rolls and had a blast mixing and experimenting.  So yeah, I am now a sushi master!

Date Night

I looovveee date night! It's always so nice to get out of the house for a bit and not worry about the stresses of life. For our date we decided we would go to Happy Sumo. Eric loves sushi and had been craving it but I hate it. It's so nasty. I hate anything that comes from the ocean or water. It's just not my thing. Give me some stake and A-1 sauce instead! BUT I decided to make my husband very happy and go there. I ordered some chicken and Eric got this Sumo roll which looked not to bad. I decided even though I knew I probably wouldn't like it I would try it to see if maybe my taste buds had changed. I hesitantly took a bite and right after I took that bite I regretted it. Yuck Yuck Yuck is all that was going through my mind. I quickly drank some water to get it down and took a bite of my chicken to get the after taste out of my mouth! I don't think I will be trying sushi again for a while. After Eric was very satisfied with his sushi and me with my chicken we decided to walk around the gateway mall. I totally didn't think it was going to be as cold as it was but boy was I wrong. I had a long sleeve on, pants, and a puffy jacket and was frozen in a matter of seconds after we walked outside. You would think that after living here for 3 years I would be use to this by now but nope. I guess my body likes the palm trees and the beach instead of snow. I initially wanted to walk around the gateway for a while but after stepping outside I changed my mind. We quickly walked in to Barnes and Nobles and got warm before we headed back to the car. We then headed to Coldstone to get some ice cream because I had been craving there birthday cake remix. I haven't had it for years so it was a nice end to the date. It was a wonderful date and I love Eric so much! It's awesome being married to your best friend.
