Ten months

Our little man is 10 months! We are really glad that last month is over. With a gastrointestinal virus, diarrhea because of the virus, diaper rash because of the diarrhea caused by the virus, the flu shot and a yeast infection it was not a fun month. He handled it all like a champ though so I really shouldn't complain. We had A LOT of naked time to air out his neither regions and I am pretty convinced he LOVES being naked.

Stats:
22lbs and in the 84 percentile
29 inches and in the 61 percentile
Head circumference is 18.1 and in the 69 percentile.

He is officially walking without any fingers, couches or ottoman. For right now he's slow but I know in no time he will be speedy and wrecking even more havoc.
He says mama, dada, uh oh, wow and night night. When he says wow he doesn't just say it once it's more like wow, wow, wow, wow. We are currently working on hello and bye bye.

He loves more than anything to read. If there is a toy and a book next to each other he will pick the book over the toy almost every time. When he wants me to read to him he looks at me and growls. It's hilarious.

In baby sign language he knows more, all done and food/hungry. It's so nice he can communicate when he's all done eating.

This month has been crazy with contract signings so I don't have any pictures but I will try and take some. I am not gonna lie, I can't wait for this month to be over!

Oh and Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Tid bits

1. I am actually doing pretty good with my new year's resolutions. I have already lost 2 pounds and have been cooking every day except for one. I am doing this Turbo Fire workout and it is a booty kicker! The only thing that I HATE about loosing weight is that I have no patience. After I have worked out super hard and busted my butt it's like I want to loose 5 pounds instantly but It doesn't work like that. I'll be lucky if I loose 5 pounds in a month.

2. I LOVE the show New Girl. It by far is my favorite show of all time. It is so funny and if you haven't seen it you need to watch it because it is amazing. I think I love it so much because I can relate to the character Jess in so many ways. Yes I am a freak.

3. I miss going to dances and acting like a freak. I was the crazy person that annoyed everyone because I just didn't care what others thought and had the best time dancing. Although I don't miss the awkward slow dances because I am not one of those girls that are blessed and "glisten". I sweat like a normal person.

4. I love football. I really enjoy all sports but there is something about football that is just so fun. I always get a little sad when the super bowl comes because then that means football is over until September but the one good thing about the super bowl is that means Spring is coming and after Spring is Summer. My favorite time of the year!

 5. Ellen DeGeneres is so hilarious and I love watching her show. My ultimate dream is to be in her audience during the 12 days of giveaways. That would be so epic I would probably shart in my pants.

6. I love watching chick flicks. I think my favorite all time is the Holiday (even though Jude Law is a jerk in real life he still is nice to look at). I just love the cute love stories and that people over come things and obstacles and love prevails. I know they aren't realistic but it's my guilty pleasure.

7. Speaking of guilty pleasures my favorite one is Jersey Shore. I freakin love that show. I know it's trash but I can't help but love it. LEZbehonest. TAXI SONO QUI!

A long long time ago....

In a galaxy far far away....

Eric turned 28!! This past Thursday was Eric's birthday and I threw him a Star Wars themed birthday party!

Eric HATES it when I decorate and it is so hard for me since I love decorating for birthdays that this year I just had to. Usually I make a candy bar poster and put streamers up everywhere but last year he specifically asked me not to decorate. I didn't put up streamers and I didn't make a candy bar poster like he asked. Instead I made a candy bar paper! I thought It was a pretty clever way around it because he never asked me not to do that and it fulfilled my need to do something. So this year I felt like I had to make up for the lack of decorations last year. I have to be honest though, my Mother in Law was the one who came up with the idea. She was looking at Pinterest one day and typed in Star Wars and found all these great ideas. I was also pretty stoked about doing the Star Wars theme because my sisters made him a Star Wars quilt so it just added to the excitement. Now I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL and I was on a budget so I did the best with what I could find at the dollar store. Since I am not a crafty person I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty impressed with myself. I used a black table cloth for the background and then found these stars and just taped them up. The picture is small but what we had on the table was:

Wookie Cookies
These are suppose to be no bake cookies but I didn't have enough time the night before his birthday to make them, so I just got his favorite cookies instead.

Han's Rolo's
Just regular Rolo's.

Edible Ewoks
Gummy bears. I found these jumbo gummy bears at the dollar store and was so stoked!

Hoth Chocolate Brownies
It's technically suppose to be hoth chocolate cake but Eric hates cake so I made Grandpa Monson's favorite brownies which are Eric's favorite brownies. I should give you guys the recipe sometime because it is really good but really rich.

Yoda Soda
This is suppose to be lime soda and some sherbert so it creates a film on the top of the soda but no one likes lime soda so I did Mountain Dew instead.

Carbonite Jell-O
Holley (my mother in law) sent me this little Han Solo action figure. I was a little mad though because he wouldn't sink in the Jell-O and he moved so he was a little off center but It was okay I guess.

Thermal Detonators
I did a mix of chocolate covered raisins and whoppers.

Like I said before, I was on a budget but I was pretty proud and really excited for Eric to see it. I was so excited that I couldn't wait for him to wake up and see it the next morning so I had him see it like right after I was done decorating because I couldn't wait. He loved it and said it was awesome. The next day everyone, except for Trevor because he had to work (we missed you Trevor!) came down for brownies and presents. Eric got his Star Wars quilt, an amazon gift card and his golf bag that he had been wanting for almost a year. All in all Eric told me that this was the best birthday he had ever had and that just made my day. I can't believe he is 28! 2 years away and he is 30. CRAZY! I love Eric so much and was so excited and happy he had such a great birthday. Happy late birthday babe!

9 months and counting...

My sweet little boy is 9 months! I am so blessed to have him in my life and watching him explore the world is such a joy. He has been walking along things for about 2 months now and any day he will take his first steps. He can stand on his own for about 4 seconds and then falls down. I am pretty convinced that he can walk on his own but just doesn't want to. Crawling is effective, fast and he already knows how to do it. I am totally fine with him not walking yet because I just know it will make my life a littler harder because he wants EVERYTHING he can't have, as most babies do.

He loves loves to dance. Eric and I recently watched all of the Big Bang Theory episodes (not all in one day and only a couple a day) and every time the song came on he would start flapping his arms up and down and get the biggest smile. He loves music and loves when I sing to him. When he is grumpy or mad it always helps calm him down.

He still has no teeth! It's hilarious when he smiles wide and I see just gums. He has started giving this cheesy smile and it's hilarious to see with no teeth. Although, I am pretty sure he is teething right now because he is just biting down on everything. He has always been a drool bucket from the start so that is nothing new but anything he can get his gums on he will chomp on.

He loves shoes and socks. It's really funny because he will take his sock off of his foot, put it in his mouth and leave it there while he crawls around and plays. He gets really mad when I take it out of his mouth and put it back on his foot.

He LOVES baths but I have to be honest, I don't! He gets so excited and starts laughing when I get the water running and can't wait to get in but once he does all hell breaks loose. I have toys and toys but nope. All he wants to do is get my shampoo, the soap, the faucet, stand up, stand down, crawl around. When he doesn't get those things, he screams at me so by the end of it I am exhausted. I don't know if that is just Trent or if that is typical baby but I pray he grows out of it but I have a feeling that he won't.

Trent loves people. He use to be really shy but if someone walks up to him and smiles he will give them the biggest smile and wave. He loves to wave hello, goodbye and to point. He points at everything. He is my little social butterfly.

He loves Sesame Street and especially loves Elmo. If I let him, he would probably watch Elmo all day. I'll admit, sometimes when I need a break I will put it on for 10-15 mins and just rest. When the song "Elmo's world" comes on he will start dancing and start laughing. He laughs a lot and has recently started making himself laugh. It's so cute.

I don't have any stats since his appointment is next month but I do know how much he weighs. He is 21lbs and going strong. I love his chunky thighs. He is such a sweet boy and loves to give mommy hugs and I love getting them!

(Cheesy smile)

Loves Grandma!

See, points at everything.

New Years

So in the spirit of the new year coming up I thought I would write down some of my resolutions. I have never been a big "resolution" kind of a person but it's never to late to start.  2011 has been a really good year. I had a baby, bought a new car (which desperately needed to happen), my sister got married and my brother in law went on a mission to Japan. So I am hoping that 2012 will be equally as good. Trent will turn 1, my husband will turn 28 (weird) and hopefully our future will become a little more secure. I think one of the reason's why I don't really like resolutions is if I don't accomplish them, I feel like a failure. But it can't hurt to try! So my resolution list for 2012 is:

1.  Loose weight. I only have 10 pounds to be at what I was before I had Trent but I carry my weight differently now and it makes me depressed because my jeans fit differently which makes me feel like a hippo.

2. Start cooking more. Before I had Trent I would cook every day except for twice a week and I really enjoyed it. I still enjoy it now but with Trent and working it's really easy not to.

3. This kind of goes hand in hand with the cooking more and loosing weight but create a healthier lifestyle so Trent grows up being healthy.

4. Be more laid back. I have already been working on this but I could do a better job.

5. Give people the benefit of the doubt. Not everyone is doing things on purpose to piss me off.

6. Be a better person (aka better wife, mom, sister, daughter).

7. Make a budget and try to stay with it. The making part isn't hard for me it's the staying with it.

8. When the weather is warmer, go outside more. Trent loves being outside and I can't wait to take him to a park.

9. Try and be more appreciative of Utah because I honestly really struggle with this one. I'm not the biggest fan especially during the winter months but it does have it's perks. One being it's a pretty cheap place to live.

10. Have a better attitude about things and realize life's meant to be enjoyed.

I know these are very basic resolutions but they are one's I hopefully can work on to make 2012 an awesome year. I hope everyone has a safe and fun New Year's!!

A Christmas story

Trent's first Christmas was a success! He didn't really understand what was going on and he was more excited about the wrapping paper and boxes (which I knew he would be) but it was still so much fun seeing his faces. He got a TON of new toys. We were especially excited for the walker that he got because he has been walking along side basically anything he can and so this will help him with the motion of putting one foot in front of the other. I know I shouldn't be pushing him walking as much as I am but he gets so frustrated that I know he will be happier that he's walking even though I probably won't. He also loves this little baby piano that we got him and this light up phone. Christmas came and went way to fast, as it always does, and I can't wait until next year already! Next year will be way more fun because he will understand things a little better. A little Christmas present for me from Trent was him being able to do the hand motion of "more". I have been working on baby sign language with him and one day I did it and then he did it right after me! It was so cool to see him put the two together. He has been doing it every day since and it's so exciting. We have been working on "all done" for a while and he watches me very intently when I do it but doesn't quite have the had motion down yet. But "more" is enough for me right now! If that's all I got for Christmas that would have been fine with me. For Christmas this year we went up to my parents house and it was really fun to be up there with all my family. We all spent a couple of days up there and even though it was really loud we always have the best time. I love my family so much and am so thankful for them. I love them more than anything in this world and am so glad I have them! I love how much we laugh when we get together and how many good memories we have. I love Christmas and the spirit it brings and am sad it's already gone but now on to the next thing which is Eric's birthday. I can't believe he is turning 28. What an oldie!

I don't want no nudies

Last weekend my Mom, sisters and I went down to Vegas for my sister Jessica's birthday. Her birthday is in November but her husband bought us all tickets to Phantom and a hotel room at the Paris hotel. I was super stoked since I had never been to Vegas before. (Obviously when we drive down to Southern Cal we drive past it but we never stop and look around.) It was a quick trip just like Disneyland. We drove there Thursday and came back on Saturday. Everyone told me to be prepared as there are basically naked girls and smoke every where and man were they right. By the end of Friday I seriously could not handle the smoke smell anymore. That and the STUPID PEOPLE ON EVERY FREAKING CORNER TRYING TO GIVE ME A CARD WITH A NAKED CHICK ON IT. I yelled at one of them "I DON'T WANT NO NUDIES." The best was my oldest sister Jamie screaming "If I want to look at boobs I'll look at my own!" Stop trying to get me to go to a club and stop trying to get me to take your nasty cards cause it ain't gonna happen. Just let me walk in peace and enjoy my time! Anyways, other than that Vegas was a lot of fun. I enjoyed seeing the fountains at the Bellagio, the decorations inside the Bellagio, the lions at MGM, the M&M factory, the Venetian (which I think was my favorite hotel) and everything else. Our room at the Paris was awesome and the best part was the Sugar factory which not only had everything sugar you could imagine but it had an amazing restaurant. The other really fun place we ate was in the New York New York. It was this sports place that had giant tv's and good food. Phantom was seriously SO good. I recommend everyone seeing it. I had seen it before when I was 8 in San Fransisco so I didn't have the best memories of it but I had obviously seen it recently because we own the movie. Anyone that hasn't seen it live should because it is 10 million times better live. Overall it was one of the best weekends of my life. I love getting together with my mom and sisters because we are always laughing super hard and having such a fun time when we do. We always are silly and goofy and it's so fun just to let loose. I know we won't always be living this close so it was a wonderful memory that I will always have.
