Rant

I apologize for this post because it's basically me complaining about things which I try not to do because lets be honest sometimes It's annoying to hear other people complain. But here I go.

1. What is with girls taking 5 million hours to get ready to go to the gym. I had a roommate who took 45 mins to get ready to go to the gym and I am not even lying. I just have never understood why girls have to get all gorgeous when they are just going to sweat it all off. Plus the fact that the guys at the gym aren't all that great. They all look like tools to me while they look at themselves in the mirror and work out. You know those guys are thinking to themselves that they are b.a.m.f.s because of there muscles and by how much they can bench. Yeah no thanks. I'm not saying you have to look like a frump but do you really have to put on mounds of makeup and do your hair?

2. When I was pregnant I got to a point where I just wanted Trent out. Big is an understatement of what I was in the end. I was a huge heffer that could barely get out of the car, bed or off the couch. But no matter how uncomfortable I was and no matter how much I wanted Trent out, I realized that he would come when he was ready. I had a friend tell me a story about a women who went to the hospital to be checked at 38 weeks and then was told to go home because it wasn't time. Most people would have been bummed and just left but she refused to go home. SHE wanted the baby out right then because that was more convenient for her. So they induced her and I'm sure everything went fine but I just didn't understand that. Motherhood = sacrifice. The second you get pregnant you start sacrificing. You start being super moody, for most people throwing up on a daily basis, feeling like super crap, not sleeping because you have to pee every 30 seconds, for most you gain more weight then you have ever in your life, you worry about if you have felt the baby or not, you spend a lot of money and time to make sure you have everything necessary for when the baby comes. Then when the baby comes you sacrifice your sleep, energy and everything else. So I just don't understand when women do things like that because THEY want the baby out when it's convenient for them. Well welcome to motherhood folks. Your life is no longer your own but revolves around that baby. Now I'm not talking about people who need to be induced because of health reasons or because they are overdue (like I was) but the women who purposely are induced because they don't want to be pregnant anymore. It's just not something I will ever understand. You are a mom and things are never going to be on your time frame again.

 3. Construction is my worst nightmare. Ever since I moved here there has been construction on the I-15 somewhere. First it was up in Davis county where they built legacy. Then up in Layton. Then (where my sister Nicole use to live) off the Alpine/Highland exit, then the American Fork, Lindon, Pleasant Grove, Orem, Provo, Springville, Spanish Fork stretch. HOLY DANG. Will it ever stop!?! Oh probably once I move. The worst part is my family stretches from Saratoga Springs to South Jordan to Farmington and Fruit Heights. So who gets to drive in the lovely construction? Me. An example of how this stupid construction makes my life so much worse is last Wednesday we headed to my sister Nicole's new house in Saratoga Springs. There dishwasher wasn't working and since Eric does that kind of a thing we decided to go out and install their new one that they had ordered (which is an entirely long different story. If you want to read about it and see pictures of there new house head on over to Trevor and Nicole's blog http://theperfect-pace.blogspot.com/) we were driving (not during rush time) and all of a sudden traffic just comes to a complete stop. I quickly look on my phone and see that it is red for miles which usually means an accident. We exit and take the back way to her house which added an extra 30 min to our trip. I was annoyed but not that much because accidents happen and there was nothing I could do about it. But on the drive home I looked over and saw that there was traffic and realized that it wasn't an accident it was dang, darn, freaking construction! They were taking the lanes down from 4 to 2. It's the most frustrating thing in the world. I don't think it would be that bad if it hadn't been almost 5 years of constant construction. CAN IT PLEASE END!? If I move before the construction is over, I will come back when it's finished and do a dance because I will be so happy.

St. Patrick's Day

I have come to realize that St. Patrick's Day was a lot better when I was younger. My mom would put little green glitter everywhere and tell us that the leprechauns came and that we had to follow the glitter to get to the gold that he left for us (which was usually the gross chocolate gold coins). But it was still exciting. Now that I am older it's just an excuse for people to get drunk and seeings as I don't drink it's just kind of a meh day. I'm sure it will become better when my kids get older and I do things for them.

But this year it was a very exciting day. My sisters and I decided to take the kids to the Living Planet Aquarium. It was such a blast!! It was so crazy with people since it was raining and a Saturday but it was still fun!

Waiting in the car for everyone since it was raining.

  I love Trent's face!

 Trent with auntie coley.

It was Trent's first time at an Aquarium and he LOVED it. He could have stayed there all day just staring and pointing at the fish.

The best part was every fish he saw he would say "oooooo" "ooooo" and then point. One time he started gibber jabbering at them and then said "oh wow." It was the funniest thing ever! The cool thing about the Aquarium was they had a jungle part and they had an anaconda! I had never seen one in person before and it was freakin huge! I would shart my pants if I saw that in person. They also had this spider called the "Bird eating spider" and it made me want to die because I kid you not it was bigger than my hand. Spiders just need to all die and go away. They also had penguins and otters. The otters were sleeping so we didn't get to see much of them but the penguins were so fun! They had just fed them so they were diving and going all crazy. Trent was just staring at them in awe of what was happening.

It was such a fun day. I can't imagine what he will do when we take him to the Zoo this Summer. I can't wait!

Month of first's

To say I love warm weather is a HUGE understatement. I can't even begin to describe how much I love Spring and Summer because it means warmth. So when yesterday was predicted to be 60 degrees I almost died with happiness and new I had to get Trent out of the house. Before it got cold Eric and I would take Trent out for walks all the time and since we live seconds away from a pond that has ducks in it we tried to take advantage of the warm weather before it turned butt cold. Trent loved being outside and looking at the ducks, turtles, leaves, cars, grass and everything else. So with yesterday being the first warm day of the season I decided we should take Trent to the park since he had never been. He loved, loved, loved it! The swings were his favorite thing. He was just meh with the slides and when we got down the slide he would take Eric or my hand and pull us towards the swing.  He only lasted about a half an hour because nap time was close but we had so much fun. I can't wait to take him back.

 (I look gross but whateve's)

We had another first with Trent this past month. He had his first real haircut. I hadn't realized how long his hair had gotten until Eric said something. I should have gotten a picture because his hair was getting so long it was heading into mullet territory and even though I think mullet's are fugly Trent was pulling it off pretty well. I was too nervous to cut it so I made Eric do it. I'm not gonna lie, he did a pretty good job. We put Yo Gabba Gabba on (which by the way that show is CRACK for babies I swear. It's so freaking weird) and Eric started clipping away. By the end of it I had to change Trent out of his clothes and put new ones on because there was so much hair. It's crazy to believe he is getting so big that we need to cut his hair now.

I can't believe that in one month our baby will be one! Time is flying by way to fast.

Ten months

Our little man is 10 months! We are really glad that last month is over. With a gastrointestinal virus, diarrhea because of the virus, diaper rash because of the diarrhea caused by the virus, the flu shot and a yeast infection it was not a fun month. He handled it all like a champ though so I really shouldn't complain. We had A LOT of naked time to air out his neither regions and I am pretty convinced he LOVES being naked.

Stats:
22lbs and in the 84 percentile
29 inches and in the 61 percentile
Head circumference is 18.1 and in the 69 percentile.

He is officially walking without any fingers, couches or ottoman. For right now he's slow but I know in no time he will be speedy and wrecking even more havoc.
He says mama, dada, uh oh, wow and night night. When he says wow he doesn't just say it once it's more like wow, wow, wow, wow. We are currently working on hello and bye bye.

He loves more than anything to read. If there is a toy and a book next to each other he will pick the book over the toy almost every time. When he wants me to read to him he looks at me and growls. It's hilarious.

In baby sign language he knows more, all done and food/hungry. It's so nice he can communicate when he's all done eating.

This month has been crazy with contract signings so I don't have any pictures but I will try and take some. I am not gonna lie, I can't wait for this month to be over!

Oh and Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Tid bits

1. I am actually doing pretty good with my new year's resolutions. I have already lost 2 pounds and have been cooking every day except for one. I am doing this Turbo Fire workout and it is a booty kicker! The only thing that I HATE about loosing weight is that I have no patience. After I have worked out super hard and busted my butt it's like I want to loose 5 pounds instantly but It doesn't work like that. I'll be lucky if I loose 5 pounds in a month.

2. I LOVE the show New Girl. It by far is my favorite show of all time. It is so funny and if you haven't seen it you need to watch it because it is amazing. I think I love it so much because I can relate to the character Jess in so many ways. Yes I am a freak.

3. I miss going to dances and acting like a freak. I was the crazy person that annoyed everyone because I just didn't care what others thought and had the best time dancing. Although I don't miss the awkward slow dances because I am not one of those girls that are blessed and "glisten". I sweat like a normal person.

4. I love football. I really enjoy all sports but there is something about football that is just so fun. I always get a little sad when the super bowl comes because then that means football is over until September but the one good thing about the super bowl is that means Spring is coming and after Spring is Summer. My favorite time of the year!

 5. Ellen DeGeneres is so hilarious and I love watching her show. My ultimate dream is to be in her audience during the 12 days of giveaways. That would be so epic I would probably shart in my pants.

6. I love watching chick flicks. I think my favorite all time is the Holiday (even though Jude Law is a jerk in real life he still is nice to look at). I just love the cute love stories and that people over come things and obstacles and love prevails. I know they aren't realistic but it's my guilty pleasure.

7. Speaking of guilty pleasures my favorite one is Jersey Shore. I freakin love that show. I know it's trash but I can't help but love it. LEZbehonest. TAXI SONO QUI!

A long long time ago....

In a galaxy far far away....

Eric turned 28!! This past Thursday was Eric's birthday and I threw him a Star Wars themed birthday party!

Eric HATES it when I decorate and it is so hard for me since I love decorating for birthdays that this year I just had to. Usually I make a candy bar poster and put streamers up everywhere but last year he specifically asked me not to decorate. I didn't put up streamers and I didn't make a candy bar poster like he asked. Instead I made a candy bar paper! I thought It was a pretty clever way around it because he never asked me not to do that and it fulfilled my need to do something. So this year I felt like I had to make up for the lack of decorations last year. I have to be honest though, my Mother in Law was the one who came up with the idea. She was looking at Pinterest one day and typed in Star Wars and found all these great ideas. I was also pretty stoked about doing the Star Wars theme because my sisters made him a Star Wars quilt so it just added to the excitement. Now I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL and I was on a budget so I did the best with what I could find at the dollar store. Since I am not a crafty person I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty impressed with myself. I used a black table cloth for the background and then found these stars and just taped them up. The picture is small but what we had on the table was:

Wookie Cookies
These are suppose to be no bake cookies but I didn't have enough time the night before his birthday to make them, so I just got his favorite cookies instead.

Han's Rolo's
Just regular Rolo's.

Edible Ewoks
Gummy bears. I found these jumbo gummy bears at the dollar store and was so stoked!

Hoth Chocolate Brownies
It's technically suppose to be hoth chocolate cake but Eric hates cake so I made Grandpa Monson's favorite brownies which are Eric's favorite brownies. I should give you guys the recipe sometime because it is really good but really rich.

Yoda Soda
This is suppose to be lime soda and some sherbert so it creates a film on the top of the soda but no one likes lime soda so I did Mountain Dew instead.

Carbonite Jell-O
Holley (my mother in law) sent me this little Han Solo action figure. I was a little mad though because he wouldn't sink in the Jell-O and he moved so he was a little off center but It was okay I guess.

Thermal Detonators
I did a mix of chocolate covered raisins and whoppers.

Like I said before, I was on a budget but I was pretty proud and really excited for Eric to see it. I was so excited that I couldn't wait for him to wake up and see it the next morning so I had him see it like right after I was done decorating because I couldn't wait. He loved it and said it was awesome. The next day everyone, except for Trevor because he had to work (we missed you Trevor!) came down for brownies and presents. Eric got his Star Wars quilt, an amazon gift card and his golf bag that he had been wanting for almost a year. All in all Eric told me that this was the best birthday he had ever had and that just made my day. I can't believe he is 28! 2 years away and he is 30. CRAZY! I love Eric so much and was so excited and happy he had such a great birthday. Happy late birthday babe!

9 months and counting...

My sweet little boy is 9 months! I am so blessed to have him in my life and watching him explore the world is such a joy. He has been walking along things for about 2 months now and any day he will take his first steps. He can stand on his own for about 4 seconds and then falls down. I am pretty convinced that he can walk on his own but just doesn't want to. Crawling is effective, fast and he already knows how to do it. I am totally fine with him not walking yet because I just know it will make my life a littler harder because he wants EVERYTHING he can't have, as most babies do.

He loves loves to dance. Eric and I recently watched all of the Big Bang Theory episodes (not all in one day and only a couple a day) and every time the song came on he would start flapping his arms up and down and get the biggest smile. He loves music and loves when I sing to him. When he is grumpy or mad it always helps calm him down.

He still has no teeth! It's hilarious when he smiles wide and I see just gums. He has started giving this cheesy smile and it's hilarious to see with no teeth. Although, I am pretty sure he is teething right now because he is just biting down on everything. He has always been a drool bucket from the start so that is nothing new but anything he can get his gums on he will chomp on.

He loves shoes and socks. It's really funny because he will take his sock off of his foot, put it in his mouth and leave it there while he crawls around and plays. He gets really mad when I take it out of his mouth and put it back on his foot.

He LOVES baths but I have to be honest, I don't! He gets so excited and starts laughing when I get the water running and can't wait to get in but once he does all hell breaks loose. I have toys and toys but nope. All he wants to do is get my shampoo, the soap, the faucet, stand up, stand down, crawl around. When he doesn't get those things, he screams at me so by the end of it I am exhausted. I don't know if that is just Trent or if that is typical baby but I pray he grows out of it but I have a feeling that he won't.

Trent loves people. He use to be really shy but if someone walks up to him and smiles he will give them the biggest smile and wave. He loves to wave hello, goodbye and to point. He points at everything. He is my little social butterfly.

He loves Sesame Street and especially loves Elmo. If I let him, he would probably watch Elmo all day. I'll admit, sometimes when I need a break I will put it on for 10-15 mins and just rest. When the song "Elmo's world" comes on he will start dancing and start laughing. He laughs a lot and has recently started making himself laugh. It's so cute.

I don't have any stats since his appointment is next month but I do know how much he weighs. He is 21lbs and going strong. I love his chunky thighs. He is such a sweet boy and loves to give mommy hugs and I love getting them!

(Cheesy smile)

Loves Grandma!

See, points at everything.
